Sammy and Becky Weinberg - Youth Directors youth@yinr.org

General Information:
The youth department at the Young Israel of New Rochelle is both vibrant and dynamic. The center of our programming is our Saturday morning activities. Shabbat morning youth groups are for children from Nursery age until high school. These groups are led by our local high school and college leaders who emphasize both educational and recreational activities.

There is a Junior Minyan designed to introduce first through fourth graders to the basics of tefilah. Our Teen Minyan is run exclusively by high school students and boasts attendance of between 70-100 participants each Shabbat. There is a supervised lounge for fifth through eight graders so that they have a place to have fun (and learn a little) after minyan is over.  There is also a high school lounge for the students that are not yet old enough to run groups.

In addition to our Saturday morning activities we also have a host of other programs throughout the year. We have holiday themed programs, monthly onegs, learning programs, crafts events, and group leader training shabatons. There are constantly new and exciting events being planned. If you want any further information about any of the events or have any questions please feel free to contact us or the synagogue.
